Dohboy,Not sure which "private" entity you may be referring to. ebay is a market place, and has no involvement as an escrower (?) of transaction funds when checks and money orders are used. The private entities involved are the buyer and the seller and they can complete the transaction in any manner mutually acceptable to both.
